NFL Draft bets: Three plus-money choices to consider from Round 2

The first round came and went in the NFL Draft, and we cashed some bets together. Our favorites had to be simultaneously winning over 6.5 wide receivers and under 9.5 offensive linemen taken with Carolina's pick at No. 32, both at plus-money by the way.

While most of the draft betting markets are gone, there are still some worth a look, but do please wager at a lower size than normal, as things are much harder to project on Day 2 and beyond.

Edgerrin Cooper to be first LB taken (+130 FanDuel)

No linebackers went in Round 1, as expected, but a few are expected to go tonight. One such prospect is Texas A&M's Edgerrin Cooper, who Daniel Jeremiah has as his 26th-ranked player in this year's draft class.

Cooper has moved into the favorite position on DraftKings at -110 over Michigan's Junior Colson, but FanDuel is still hanging him at plus-money to be the first linebacker off the board tonight.

We'll take a swing at this price on what many seem to widely believe is the best LB in the draft.

Position of second draft pick from the New England Patriots: Offensive Line (+430 FanDuel)

Now keep in mind, wide receiver is a massive favorite here for New England, and currently owning the second pick of the second round, the Pats sit in a sweet spot to nab a young talented pass-catcher that their offense desperately needs.

OT is another need for New England as they turn to investing in surrounding new QB Drake Maye with as much talent as possible, and if it isn't wide receiver, this seems to be the only other logical choice.

A bet here is admittedly steeped in bias from the rumor mill. Rumors have been swirling that San Francisco is set to deal one of Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk, with Aiyuk-to-New England murmurs really picking up steam yesterday.

If the Patriots do pull off an Aiyuk trade, this No. 34 pick is likely attached, at which point they'd slide down into a spot in the draft where OL starts to make more sense again.

If a trade does materialize later today, don't be surprised to see this market either unavailable or these odds completely swap.

Position of Buffalo Bills' first drafted position: Cornerback (+1300 FanDuel)

The Bills desperately need to add a wide receiver, and that is still our expectation. However, Buffalo curiously traded down twice last night when a slew of quality pass-catchers were still on the board.

Maybe the Bills just grouped together 5+ pass-catchers and felt good about getting whoever was left at No. 33 while adding extra picks, but what if they're not sold on this batch of names at this spot in the draft?

Buffalo also has a hole in their secondary, and the best player left is CB/Swiss Army knife Cooper DeJean. DeJean would be a great value add for the Bills here and fill a hole, and then they can maneuver up the second round for a WR that they like with some of that added capital from last night.

Go light on this one, but we like the price.
